The Singapore Mint

The Singapore Mint, a fully owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, is a Singaporean mint manufacturer. It is established in 1968 as a basic minting facility to produce circulation coins for Singapore. It produced Singapore's first and second series of circulation coins. On 13 Nov 1987, the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Singapore appointed Singapore Mint as the sole sales agent for commemorative coins issued by the Board. It also became the exclusive marketing agent and distributor of Singapore gold bullion coins.

The red packets from The Singapore Mint feature the zodiac animal of each year, which is another of my favourites. Still missing a couple from Series 1 – search mission still ongoing. Series 2 started with having 2 designs in a set, which is similar to those in Series 1. However, from 2023 onwards, it has changed to having a single design, which is quite a bummer. It would be nicer (and perfect) if the whole Series 2 had kept to 2 designs in a set.
